Founder of Women for Change, a South African organisation campaigning against gender-based violence and femicide. During the G-20 Leaders' Summit held in South Africa in 2025, Walter organised a nationwide shutdown built around fifteen minutes of collective silence for victims; the campaign reached far enough that the government went on to declare gender-based violence a national disaster.
